When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and any profile details you choose to provide (display name, avatar, location). We also automatically collect basic usage data — such as which articles you read and comments you post — to improve your experience on the platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve PedTalks Sports, to send account-related communications (password resets, subscription updates), and — only if you explicitly opt in — to send you email alerts when new articles are published. We never sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Email Communications
If you subscribe to our newsletter or enable email notifications in your profile settings, we will send you sports news updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by updating your notification preferences in your profile or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.
4. Cookies & Sessions
We use secure, HttpOnly session cookies managed by Supabase Auth to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics cookies, or any cookies that follow you across other websites.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure. We apply industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time by contacting us at privacy@pedtalks.com. We will remove your data within 30 days of your request, except where we are required by law to retain it.
7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
If you are located in the European Union or California, you have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data. You also have the right to object to or restrict certain types of processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@pedtalks.com.
8. Third-Party Services
PedTalks Sports uses Supabase for authentication and data storage, Stripe for payment processing, and Resend for transactional email. Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and handles your data in accordance with applicable law.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of PedTalks Sports after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
