Cristiano Ronaldo did not leave Portugal quietly.
On Wednesday, September 30, the 41-year-old captain left the national team's training camp in Copenhagen, just one day before Portugal's Nations League meeting with Denmark. The decision came after a press conference from new head coach Jorge Jesus and a conversation between Ronaldo and Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proença.
Ronaldo later confirmed the decision himself, saying that he would explain the reasons behind his departure "in due course."
